Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse provides safe, patient-centered care by utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They coordinate and supervise care for assigned personnel, perform charge duties, and ensure proper documentation and communication with physicians.

• Assess patient conditions, monitor skin integrity, fall risk, medication response, and treatments according to protocols.
• Administer and document medications, including blood products, adhering to hospital policies.
• Develop and update individualized care plans, incorporate patient education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Identify learning needs of patients and families, providing appropriate education and resources.
• Initiate and utilize Evidence-Based Medicine tools to guide patient care.
• Perform admission and discharge procedures accurately, report changes in patient status, and coordinate tests and treatments.

• State license required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire or transfer; PALS as applicable.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
