Position Summary
The position is responsible for leading less experienced QC Technicians and receive general day to day supervision from the Regional Quality Control Manager and/or appropriate plant personnel (plant manager). Ensures all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety, environmental and ISO requirements. Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing and QC environment.
ResponsibilitiesExecutes 5S methods for laboratory organization and leads training of other QC personnel. Provides list to order supplies for the QC lab and ensures the QC data-up system is maintained. Leads communications with production personnel to provide a smooth, efficient production flow of quality products, as needed. Ensures all QC instruments meet calibration requirements listed in the calibration work instructions.
Works with team members to identify improved methods of QC analysis and/or new QC lab equipment to improve lab efficiencies. Leads training of personnel in Quality Control procedures and updating QC procedures as needed. Ensures that all CoA's, MSDS, Calibration/Verification, meet ISO 9001 traceability. Writes a daily report of all QC testing performed on products received in the QC lab using the appropriate communication database or electronic format.
Advises QC Supervisor/Manager and/or shift leader of persistent or difficult Quality problems and provides recommendations and improvements for all QC related activities.
- Minimum 5‑7 years QC laboratory experience.
- Associate’s Degree in science or engineering or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Intermediate computer/technical skills, including experience with Access, ACT, Excel and Word; ERP software a plus.
- Excellent organization skills, ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Good verbal, written, and math skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skill.
- Capable of participating in Quality Control and Environmental Safety Organizations.
- Organized and meticulous.
Must be able to travel 5‑10%.
Physical Requirements- Must pass pre‑employment physical.
- Lifts and/or carries a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Puts the weight of 50 pounds on its own, but no incorrectly formatted terms were used in final formatting
