As a Meat Butcher / Meat Cutter, you are the skilled professional behind the counter — upholding our standards, supporting the team, and ensuring every customer leaves confident in their purchase.

As a Meat Butcher / Meat Cutter, you’ll refine your craftsmanship, expand your knowledge of meat fabrication and specialty cuts, and strengthen your expertise in product quality, shrink control, and merchandising. RoutineTasks
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Cut, bone, trim, and grind meats according to company standards and customer specifications
- Prepare and package meats for both service counter and self-service displays
- Weigh, wrap, label, and price products accurately
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
- Take and fulfill special orders with accuracy and attention to detail
- Store meats in refrigerators and freezers at required temperatures
- Clean and maintain prep areas, cases, and equipment to uphold health and sanitation standards
- Operate department equipment including knives, band saws, grinders, scales, and wrapping machines safely and efficiently
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum 1-2 years of butcher or meat cutting experience in a retail or commercial setting required
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts and safe handling practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills (weights, pricing, portioning)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for craftsmanship and serving people
A Meat Butcher / Meat Cutter works primarily in the Meat department and preparation areas. This role involves walking and standing for extended periods, lifting and moving products weighing up to 80 pounds, and working in refrigerated environments with varying temperatures. Use of sharp tools and heavy equipment is required. Frequent interaction with customers and fellow team members is an essential part of the role.
