Position: Merchandiser (Soft Goods) Bear Lakes Country Club

Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, FL, offers a boutique country club lifestyle featuring world-class amenities. These include two championship courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and David Love III (opening November 2026), a dynamic tennis program, and three unique dining experiences in a contemporary 22,000-square-foot clubhouse.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in golf, country club, or resort retail environments who understands the importance of delivering an elevated member experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soft goods merchandising, including apparel buying, inventory management, and vendor relations.

What you’ll do
  • Support the planning and direction of soft goods retail operations, including meeting with sales representatives and placing merchandise orders
  • Design and execute visually appealing merchandise displays to enhance the retail environment and drive sales
  • Receive, inspect, tag, and prepare merchandise for display; ensures packing slips align with purchase orders
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute retail promotions and sales initiatives
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and inventory management processes
  • Provide exceptional customer service on the retail floor and over the phone
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files
  • Receive and process deliveries from carriers such as UPS and Fed Ex
  • Train Golf staff on retail sales techniques, product knowledge, and applicable warranties
  • Support Golf Operations with daily activities including player check-in, tee time management, lesson bookings, and opening/closing procedures
  • Assist with leagues and tournaments, including sourcing and purchasing prizes for events
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Golf Operations
Education, Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred with 1–3 years of related experience; or an associate degree with 3–5 years of related experience; or 5+ years of relevant experience in golf, retail, or merchandising environments.

Preferred Skills
  • Strong merchandising and retail skills required, including sales analysis, inventory management, and product buying.
  • Demonstrate an eye for visual presentation and the ability to maintain a clean, elevated shop environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage members and provide a high level of personalized service.
  • Proficiency in POS and inventory systems (Jonas or similar), along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
