Retail Loss Prevention Detective

Job Description

This position is responsible for daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs, maintaining positive relationships with store management, conducting apprehensions, communicating with store associates, identifying and resolving theft, and supporting shrink reduction goals.

• Adheres to established shoplifter guidelines and policies
• Provides timely, courteous and knowledgeable service to customers
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Observes, apprehends or deters acts of dishonesty from outside sources
• Participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned
• Ensures apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity
• Completes and distributes paperwork accurately and timely
• Maintains appropriate evidence and demonstrates understanding of law enforcement procedures; participates in legal activities as needed
• Coordinates and completes shrink‑related activities in partnership with store management
• Adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs
• Encourages associate use of shrink reduction resources
• Promotes safety awareness and supports maintenance of a safe environment

Starting pay range: $14.55 to $20.40 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
