Job Description Position SummaryOur Leasing Consultants make a big impact by delivering friendly service, managing leads, scheduling tours, and encouraging online applications. They meet leasing goals, such as occupancy and rent growth, build rapport with prospects and residents, and manage the leasing process efficiently.
Essential Job Function Customer Service (30%)- Deliver unmatched service to prospects and residents to exceed expectations and nurture satisfaction
- Guide prospects through the leasing experience to make renting easy
- Serve as the liaison through the application, leasing screening, and move‑in process, including all related paperwork
- Answer calls, emails, chats, and texts to fully support prospects
- Encourage prospects to apply
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Communicate detailed information about communities and apartments to prospects
- Conduct informative and personalized tours that result in new leases
- Highlight the quality of the community and the lifestyle of an apartment home to drive sales
- Develop deep knowledge of the rental process, market, and neighborhoods, translating that into successful sales interactions
- Employ effective selling techniques to close the sale
- Collaborate with the onsite team to exceed occupancy goals
- Maintain current knowledge of apartments, building amenities, local agencies, or attractions
- Stay aware of current rental rates and promotions of competitive properties
- Project a favorable image of the community at all times to achieve property objectives
- Schedule tours and show apartments
- Actively participate in the leasing process by monitoring inbound leads, qualifying prospects, leasing apartments, touring prospects, following up after each tour, and completing move‑in procedures according to policies
- Proactively manage all leads and customer experience using the CRM
- Complete assigned CRM tasks within the required timeframe
- Manage leasing requests from existing residents
- Run applications, communicate screening results, prepare and send leases, and collect required documentation for a smooth move‑in
- Inspect apartments before move‑in to ensure condition and schedule maintenance items
- Master the leasing process from post‑tour follow‑up to closing all tasks in the CRM
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Customer Service/Hospitality preferred
- 1–2 years of sales and customer service experience with proven sales goals in a fast‑paced environment (property management, hospitality, retail, or restaurant) required
- 1–2 years of leasing experience in the multifamily property management industry preferred
- Valid driver's license, as required by the property
- 1+ year sales and customer service experience with sales goals in a fast‑paced environment
- Previous leasing experience within the multifamily property management industry a plus
- Demonstrated success in goal setting/achievement and following a sales process
- Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws
- Adherence to Fair Housing laws and Brookfield leasing policies and procedures
- High energy, sales‑driven and customer‑service focus
- Reliable, high attention to detail, self‑motivated, and self‑managing
- Ability to work well with diverse individuals
- Customer‑focused mentality, sharp professional appearance, and sales aptitude
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, fair housing laws, affordable housing programs, and sales techniques
- Proficient with Yardi CRM preferred
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends (regular days off Monday‑Friday)
