Position Overview

The Catering Sales Manager at The Ben is responsible for driving group and catering revenue through strategic sales initiatives, proactive business development, and strong client relationship management. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities and maximizing existing accounts to position the hotel as the premier destination for meetings, corporate gatherings, and social events in West Palm Beach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Sales & Business Development – Conduct proactive sales calls and prospecting activities, maintain a strategic direct sales program, dedicate a minimum of 90 % of work time to revenue‑generating efforts, represent the hotel at networking events, maintain reliable transportation, and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • New Account Development – Identify, target, and secure new accounts through research, prospecting, networking, and market intelligence; analyze market trends and competitor activity; execute targeted account strategies; generate referrals and follow up on leads within 48 hours; use telemarketing and digital outreach.
  • Key Account Management – Maximize revenue within existing accounts by identifying growth opportunities and upselling services; build and maintain strong client relationships; maintain detailed client profiles; achieve productivity and activity goals.
  • Sales Administration & Yield Management – Negotiate room rates, catering packages, and event agreements; prepare and present customized proposals; maintain accurate records in CRM and sales reporting tools; monitor pipeline activity and forecasting.
  • Account Service & Client Experience – Deliver exceptional service throughout the sales cycle; maintain organized account files; respond promptly to client inquiries; collaborate with internal departments to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Market Intelligence & Product Knowledge – Conduct ongoing market research; maintain in‑depth knowledge of the hotel’s offerings and competitive insights; stay informed on industry developments.
  • Professionalism & Collaboration – Represent the hotel with integrity and professionalism; maintain a polished appearance; foster collaboration across departments; manage travel and sales expenses responsibly.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in hospitality sales, including group, catering, or event sales.
  • Experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or business development preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Delphi or comparable sales and catering systems.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality sales strategies, market positioning, and revenue optimization.
Physical Demands
  • Bending or kneeling may be required when filing or retrieving materials.
  • Must move throughout all areas of the hotel to assist clients and support site visits.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of files and office materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional standing for extended periods during client meetings, site tours, and events.
Work Environment

Primarily based in a professional office setting within the hotel, with regular interaction in various areas including event spaces and guest‑facing environments. Occasional attendance at off‑site events, client meetings, and networking functions.

Salary
