Senior Level Diesel Technician – Permanent Full Time – West Palm Beach, Florida. Immediate hiring to support our truck fleet at Ryder.

- Hourly Pay: $32.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus:
Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year) - Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
- All other certifications required by location, required
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check with drug and alcohol verification for the last three years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
- Support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
220) - Complete two of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location fleet mix within 365 days
