Position Outline
An Installer/Assessor is responsible for performing a variety of installs, retrofits, bathroom remodeling projects, and light construction tasks for residences. This position is ideal for contractors seeking additional work and is paid per job, or for proficient individuals with schedule flexibility to complete assigned projects to company standards.
This role includes accessibility modifications such as ramp construction, doorway widening, and bathroom remodeling with a primary focus on walk-in shower conversions and related safety upgrades.
Key Responsibilities- Construct ramps and builds that aid in home accessibility for clients
- Perform bathroom remodeling projects, primarily walk-in shower installations, conversions, and accessibility upgrades
- Perform carpentry work including framing, door widening and doorway reconfiguration to meet accessibility and mobility requirements, deck repairs, minor structural work, cabinetry adjustments, and fixture installation
- Conduct assessments by performing walkthroughs to identify repair or modification needs and assist in preparing scope recommendations and cost estimates
- Handle emergency repairs and urgent service tasks as needed
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on repair and project progress
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain clean and safe job sites including floor protection, dust control, debris removal, and proper jobsite organization
- Install fixtures such as grab bars, shelving, cabinetry, accessibility hardware, and related components
- Maintain detailed records of completed tasks and follow-up actions required
- Maintain daily project reporting in Job Tread, including required photos, progress updates, issue tracking, and completion notes
- Possess the ability to coordinate and communicate professionally with city officials and inspectors when required
- Demonstrate working knowledge of simple plumbing and electrical repairs, modifications, and installations related to remodeling and accessibility work
- Self-manage punch list items and ensure projects are fully complete and meet company quality standards prior to closeout
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, and preparing work areas
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional vocational or trade training preferred)
- Several years of experience in residential construction, maintenance, remodeling, or accessibility installations
- Demonstrated ability to complete assigned projects efficiently and to company standards
- Technical proficiency in using construction tools and equipment, with basic knowledge of carpentry systems and structural considerations
- Ability to pass a Level 1 background check
