Experienced Sheet Metal Duct Installer/Mechanic — Commercial HVAC
Nature Air Corp — West Palm Beach, FL Full-Time | Commercial HVAC Construction
Nature Air Corp is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Duct Mechanic for commercial HVAC construction projects throughout South Florida.
This is not an entry-level installer or helper position. We are specifically looking for someone with strong hands-on experience installing commercial sheet-metal ductwork who can read plans, lay out work and perform installations with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret commercial mechanical/HVAC plans
- Lay out sheet-metal duct runs based on plans and field conditions
- Install rectangular sheet-metal ductwork
- Install spiral ductwork
- Install supply, return, exhaust and outside-air systems
- Install fittings, transitions, offsets, elbows and related components
- Determine field measurements and required fittings
- Install hangers and supports
- Install dampers, diffusers, grilles and registers
- Coordinate duct routes around actual field conditions
- Identify installation conflicts and communicate them before proceeding
- Direct installers or helpers when assigned
- Maintain clean, professional commercial installations
- Commercial sheet-metal duct installation experience required
- Able to independently read mechanical plans
- Able to lay out sheet-metal ductwork from drawings
- Experienced installing rectangular sheet metal
- Spiral duct experience strongly preferred
- Strong field-measurement skills
- Able to identify fittings and transitions required in the field
- Able to work independently without another mechanic constantly directing the work
- Reliable transportation
