LSF is seeking a talented Preschool Family Community Engagement Supervisor who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

Purpose and Impact:

The Preschool Family Community Engagement Supervisor works as part of a team in coordinating family services including eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance procedures (ERSEA); assures the provision of parent involvement activities for parents, including fatherhood/male involvement, and social services for HS/EHS children and their families; provides program assistance and guidance to parents and office staff; coordinates and documents referrals to outside agencies;

acts as community liaison to promote related projects and departmental activities. Also responsible for being a lead for child abuse and neglect related activities. Supervises assigned staff. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • As a lead and in consultation with the FACE Program Manager/Supervisors/Specialists, writes, reviews and revises Family Community Partnership work plans annually. Develops a system for administering and monitoring the work plan.
  • Monitors compliance with the HS/EHS work plan, child care licensing guidelines and the HS Performance Standards. Conducts period chart audits and case reviews.
  • Shares responsibility for ERSEA with fellow FCE Supervisors and FCE Program Manager. Monitor waiting list and assures the list is viable each month. Ensures the program is at full enrollment within 30 days of start of program services and that all vacancies are filled within 30 days through the year. Coordinates recruitment activities throughout the community.
  • As part of the Family & Community Engagement team, establishes procedures for the social services portion of the program with parents and staff that support the effective implementation of services, including fatherhood/male involvement activities and parent volunteers. Supports the Center Directors and classroom staff in ensuring Parent Committee activities and Family Nights are coordinated and offered monthly.
  • As part of the Family & Community Engagement team, establishes procedure for the family and community partnership portion of the program that supports effective implementation of services to families.
  • Develops and implements a plan and system of continuous monitoring and evaluation of activities within the program to assure that families’ needs are being met.
  • Works with other managers/specialists/supervisors/coordinators to develop a system utilizing a child tracking system for implementation of family partnership agreements and tracking referrals, individual contracts, home visits and follow-ups.
  • Serves as contact for designated social services partners, continuing to further develop and nurture collaborative relationships.
  • Serves as the lead and key coordinator for the child abuse and neglect reporting system. Ensures that other staff is aware of and trained on child abuse and neglect identification and reporting laws.
  • Develops relationships with community partners to whom families can be referred for services.
  • Works closely with other managers/specialists//supervisors/coordinators and other agency staff to support arrangements for identification, referrals, parent permission, confidentiality of records, evaluation and individual program planning for children with special needs.
  • Coordinates and participates in regular team staffing of children and schedules and facilitates any special meeting related to child staffing as necessary to support participation in the classroom.
  • Attends home visits, parent conferences and/or IEP/IFSP meetings when necessary or as requested.
  • May assist other staff with transition of HS children to kindergarten or with children transitioning into HS/EHS.
