Coordinator Station Operations (PBI) Position Summary
The Coordinator Station Operations is responsible for all facets of station coordination/communication. The position requires quick thinking and an in depth knowledge of overall station operations. The Coordinator must display an intense desire to satisfy our internal customers:
Flight, Inflight, Airports, Ground Operations, Maintenance, business partners, and System Operations.
- Responsible for ramp control (where applicable) - coordination of aircraft movement with Aircraft Ground Reposition (AGR), other airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration tower
- Accepts in-range calls and communicates info/requests via radio or other means to all departments
- Obtains and communicates fuel loads to business partner
- Monitors Sabre Interact, Movement Control, Flight Explorer and other necessary programs in order to support the on time departure of our flight schedule
- Communicates crucial information to System Operations and all departments
- Monitors and communicates connection issues, payload restrictions, customer disturbances, and any other abnormalities
- Updates information into Movement Control to Flight Information Display Screens
- Dissects and determines root or extenuating cause on flight delays and then enters delay coding/comments
- Irregular operations management
- Facility maintenance and security communications
- Field Conditions Report updates throughout the day
- Data collection for billing purposes
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- At least eighteen (18) years old
- One (1) year of Jet Blue or prior airline experience
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends, holidays and irregular operation
- Working knowledge of Office suite software such as Word/Excel/Power Point
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and in a team environment
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to learn new technology and operating systems
- Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets Jet Blue Airways’ insurance standards
- Where applicable, required to obtain and maintain United States Customs Clearance
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- For internal candidates, good standing in attendance performance and safety
- Familiarity with weather reading
- Highly organized and focused
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance (uniform compliant)
- When working or traveling on Jet Blue flights, and if time permits, all capable crew members are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
- Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Jet Blue culture, that is, exhibit the Jet Blue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
- Promote Jet Blue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting Jet Blue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including Jet Blue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
