Safety & Compliance Specialist
At Collaborative Student Transportation (CST), safety is at the core of everything we do. We partner with school districts and transportation providers to make sure students have safe, reliable transportation every day. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Safety & Compliance Specialist who is passionate about building strong partnerships, maintaining compliance, and helping service partners succeed.

What You'll DoAs the Safety & Compliance Specialist, you'll oversee safety and compliance efforts across our network of transportation service partners. You'll work closely with drivers, service partners, and school districts to ensure DOT compliance, driver qualification standards, and operational safety requirements are consistently met. This role combines administrative work with regular travel and in-person relationship management.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety and compliance with assigned service partners
- Make sure service partner drivers remain compliant by conducting regular driver file audits and reviewing documentation
- Verify new driver qualifications and make sure all required documentation is complete before onboarding
- Conduct vehicle inspections and monitor compliance with safety standards
- Visit service partners and school districts to provide on-site support and maintain strong working relationships
- Meet regularly with service partners to review compliance expectations and address safety concerns
- Collaborate with school districts to make sure transportation operations meet contractual and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation
- Identify potential compliance issues and proactively work with partners to resolve them
- Travel throughout Florida and occasionally out of state to support service partners and district operations
- A highly organized professional with exceptional attention to detail
- A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with service partners and school districts
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfortable balancing administrative work with frequent travel
- Solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with vehicle inspections and transportation safety practices preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Workplace/Microsoft Office applications
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Florida and occasionally out of state
- (Preferred)
Knowledge of DOT driver qualification files and compliance requirements
- Pay Range: $45,000–$75,000 per year (based on experience)
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, Day shift
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location:
Remote (Must be located in Duval County, FL or Palm Beach County, FL)
- Must successfully complete a background and reference check
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel regularly throughout Florida and occasionally out of state
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
