Immediate opening for an Asphalt Paving Service Truck Driver in West Palm Beach, Fl. Responsible for operating and maintaining the service truck used to support paving operations, delivering fuel, water, oil, tools, and other supplies to asphalt paving equipment and crews while adhering to DOT and company safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Safely operate a service truck to deliver fuel, water, lubricants, and tools to paving equipment on job sites.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain inspection logs.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel and material usage.
- Assist paving crew with basic onsite support such as tool retrieval, equipment checks, or cleaning tasks.
- Monitor fluid levels and ensure equipment is fueled and maintained throughout the day.
- Report any mechanical issues or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service truck.
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by project schedules.
- Assist with other duties as directed by the paving superintendent or foreman.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A with tanker and hazmat endorsements (if required).
- Clean driving record with knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Prior experience operating a service truck or working in road construction/asphalt paving is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a similar role in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
- Must be over the age of 21 years old.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule such as nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Strong understanding of equipment fueling, lubricants, and service procedures.
- Must be safety-oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and walking.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over a distance of at least 10 feet.
- Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions with potential exposure to heat, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
- Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- May require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project needs.
