Fire Rescue Inventory Specialist

Performs specialized inventory control work in the receipt, storage, and issuance of equipment, materials, and supplies in Fire Rescue's supply warehouse. Responsible for p rocuring, receiving, and delivering supplies to Fire Rescue facilities, to include the tracking of the Department's Fixed Assets. Work requires initiative and independent judgment to provide timely acquisition and flow of supplies, according to demand and the use of an automated inventory control system.

Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment safely and effectively. Prepares reports, completes data entry, and maintains inventory documentation and correspondence. Work is performed under the general guidance of a supervisor and is reviewed through inspections, reporting, operational performance, and overall effectiveness of inventory control activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in parts/equipment/medical supply and inventory control.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with warehouse inventory of medical supplies (must specify on application),
• Experience with inventory management (must specify on application),
• Experience with accounting and record keeping systems (must specify on application),
• Experience using MS Word/Excel/Outlook (must specify on application), and

• An Associate's Degree in Business/Accounting/related field.
