Under clinical supervision of a physician, the Nurse Practitioner provides behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment to patients within the scope of his/her licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.
Master's Degree in Nursing with appropriate license to practice.
Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals.
Prescribe and administer psychotherapeutic treatments/medications to treat behavioral health disorders and/or substance use disorders at assigned program/sites.
Advise and inform guardians, relatives, and significant others of the patient's conditions and treatment.
Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients, as necessary.
Attend Quarterly Prescriber Meetings and any other assigned meetings.
Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of diagnostic criteria sets for substance use and/or behavioral health disorders.
Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
