Assesses and plans for direct patient care and provides leadership within the nursing team. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decisions regarding nursing tasks delegated to licensed and unlicensed personnel. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care. Responsible and accountable to know and understand OZH#s vision, mission, values and standards. # Excellent basic nursing skills required Emergency Room experience preferred but not required MO RN License BLS #

Responsible for the flow and prioritization of patients through the ER by making certain that all orders are completed in a timely manner and that chart flow processes are being followed

Utilizes appropriate delegation when making daily duty assignments to ensure safe and excellent care and that all patient follow up calls and pending x-ray/labs are reported correctly

Rounds on patients daily and immediately addresses complaints of patients/family

Makes certain that all new employees receive complete orientation

Other Duties

Assess, intervene and stabilize a variety of trauma, physical illnesses and behavioral health conditions with decisive action

Responsible for directing decontamination of hazardous material condition.

Keeps physicians informed of patient care progress. Assists physician in prioritizing and staying organized

Performs as a Code Blue team leader/member

Monitors blood and blood products

Assists with rapid sequence intubation when physician is at bedside

Recognizes situations that require immediate intervention and makes appropriate decisions

Functions as a charge nurse after six months of hire

Initiates care measures and treatment as appropriate and within scope of practice. (Etc., ice, elevate, fever control)
