Position Overview
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in West Point, GA, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. The role includes weekly pay of $1400 or more, hourly pay of $24.00 per hour, a shift pay of $0.50 per hour, and safety bonuses of $250 four times a year. Drivers receive paid training and schedule Sunday to Friday with some Saturdays, starting at 5:00 PM.
Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance. All benefits begin immediately: medical, dental & vision after 30 days; 80 hours PTO in the first year; boot allowance; 401(k) rollover with a company match at one year; 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility); and employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, and tech. The position is local, Home Daily – Shuttle, Route to Georgia only, with a dry van 53’ trailer, Non‑Touch – Auto Parts freight, and Tractor Day Cab.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and agency regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards while maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Loading and unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading as required by the customer.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test, Background and Motor Vehicle checks, and DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test and provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions and to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days.
- 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1.
