Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Professional Development Specialist at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in facilitating the growth and learning of healthcare staff by presenting and customizing continuing education programs. They assess the educational needs of clinical staff, develop innovative curriculums, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
JOB FUNCTION
PRESENTATION/EDUCATOR:
- Transmits knowledge, skills and attitude in a progressive learning environment to facilitate growth and learning using a variety of instructional methods, learning opportunities and teaching/learning resources.
- Present CE and in service training programs congruent with assessed needs. Customize curriculum presentations to meet individual learner needs.
PLAN/IMPLEMENT: - Assesses needs for clinical related educational programs to increase the knowledge and skills of staff for provision of high quality, evidence based, patient care.
- Assesses learner skill development and plan interventions for re-mediation and follow-up in teaching environments.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT: - Creates innovative educational offerings for the introduction of new theories, skills and techniques for use in advancing clinical practice.
- Develops effective curriculums, program materials and deployment strategies for various learning modalities/styles.
PROGRAM MAINTENANCE: - Meets standards for CNE and other multidisciplinary approval for Mississippi and Alabama.
- Effectively partners with unit and /or departmental educators to compliment unit-specific training with centralized programs.
- Establishes effective lines of communication within the NMHS system to provide assistance and share/network resources.
- Capable of initiating change, facilitating the change efforts of others and/or enabling others to change.
- Promotes the use of problem‑solving skills by others in assessing the nature of the problem, prioritizing its components, planning problem‑solving strategies, implementing the planned solution and evaluating outcomes.
RESEARCH; - Applies principles of research design in performing surveys, designing evaluation and conducting research for program design.
- Utilizes research to determine evidence‑based practice to increase knowledge of staff and improve patient outcomes.
RECORD KEEPING: - Accountable for NMMC standards of education documentation and regulatory agency requirements.
- FACILITATION:
Collaborates with various schools to provide clinical experiences for students in the NMHS system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education- Bachelor's Degree In nursing or other clinical related areas. Required
- Master's Degree . Preferred
- RN
- Registered Nurse
- State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure. Upon Hire. Required Or - . or other Licensed Clincal Professional. Upon Hire. Required
Prior experience in program design and curriculum development. Required

- Demonstrates skills in training/presentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Provides educational programs as well as coordinating multidisciplinary approved provider programs in clinical related areas
