Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Aerospace & Defense
West Point, MS| $125,000–$150,000 Base +Bonus + Benefits + Relocation AssistanceAn established and expanding aerospace and defense manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead process development, production support, new product introduction, and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
This is an ideal opportunity for a practical engineering leader who enjoys working directly with production teams and has broad exposure to machining, welding, metal fabrication, tooling, and complex mechanical assembly.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Manufacturing Engineers and technical personnel supporting day-to-day production.
Develop manufacturing processes, routers, work instructions, bills of materials, and production documentation for build-to-print products.
Manage NPI execution and the transition of new defense products from development into repeatable production.
Support machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and production-line development.
Resolve manufacturing constraints, recurring defects, workflow issues, and production-readiness risks.
Create and improve facility layouts, assembly-line layouts, tooling strategies, and production flow.
Partner with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Test Engineering, and Program Management.
Drive Lean, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, error-proofing, and measurable improvements in quality, throughput, and cost.
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; equivalent technical education and highly relevant experience may be considered.
6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Previous leadership, team-lead, supervisor, or engineering management experience.
Aerospace, defense, aviation, missile systems, military products, or government-contract manufacturing experience.
Hands-on understanding of machining, welding, metal fabrication, complex assembly, and production tooling.
Experience with NPI, process development, BOMs, routers, work instructions, and production ramp-up.
Working knowledge of AS9100 and regulated manufacturing requirements.
Lean manufacturing or Kaizen experience.
U.S. citizenship is required due to applicable government contract and security requirements. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
