Overview

Responsibilities- Implements change management strategies to ensure successful execution of the Magnet program. Coordinates and evaluates programs and activities to advance a culture of excellence, including special events, ongoing Magnet campaign and various communication strategies.
- Assumes an active role in promoting professional and other work environment initiatives, e.g., engages and mentors nurses to advance publications and presentations.
- Assists the DCO with planning, developing and implementing all Magnet initiatives within documented timeframe(s) to ensure the goals of the program are met, including supporting the coordination of the Magnet application, document submission, site visit and/or re-designation processes and interim reporting submission.
- Assists the DCO in developing and implementing communication strategies throughout the organization to ensure accurate information regarding program purpose, initiatives, improvement strategies, and outcomes. Supports the dissemination of information around Magnet initiatives across the organization.
- Supports the DCO in the management of the NDNQI database, NDNQI data entry, demographic data, and implementation of nurse satisfaction surveys. Serves as site coordinator for the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI).
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure collection, correlation, analysis and generation of detailed reports and integrated quality data to Management and other key stakeholders regarding Magnet Recognition Program.
- Assists in the development of informational/educational resources and nursing sensitive quality indicator (NSQIs) reports for Management and front-line staff, provides education and assists in implementing strategies to respond to new program requirements and opportunities for improvement supported by external benchmarking.
- Assists the DCO in the implementation, improvement, and evaluation of the organization’s nursing professional practice model and nursing care delivery models across the organization.
- Assists the DCO in the development of the nursing annual/bi-annual report in collaboration with other nursing leaders.
- Serves as a resource to support the DCO in integrating the Magnet standards to support successful outcomes and implementing shared governance at the unit and hospital-wide level to ensure that the organization milieu reflects the internalization of the five components of the Magnet Model®.
- Contributes to improving nurse satisfaction/engagement by serving as a role model in effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication, which includes active listening, and facilitating teamwork with RNs to include support of clinical nurses and nurse leaders with action plan development and implementation.
- Attends workshops and other educational programs to ensure awareness of current developments and trends in the Magnet program, and stays up to date with professional organizations standards and submit abstracts to national conferences.
- Master’s required
- Bachelor of Nursing Required
- Three years of experience in nursing and/or nursing leadership is required
- One year prior experience with project/program management in a Magnet health care setting preferred.
- Valid MD Nursing License
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- National Nursing Certification in Nursing Administration, Leadership, Clinical Specialty, or Staff Development preferred.

Day - Pay Range: $89,356.80 - $

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Exempt)
