This role is ideal for someone with a strong scientific foundation who is comfortable working in a laboratory environment and has an understanding of bioprocess purification, scaling principles, and wet chemistry techniques. The successful candidate will contribute to laboratory-scale process characterization, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and technical documentation while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Support laboratory activities related to downstream bioprocess purification of large, complex molecules.
  • Perform wet chemistry laboratory techniques including pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, and stoichiometric calculations.
  • Apply scientific understanding of purification operations and bioprocess scaling principles to laboratory activities and process development.
  • Conduct laboratory-scale process characterization studies and support experimental activities.
  • Operate and work with analytical laboratory instrumentation such as plate readers, densitometers, thermocyclers, cIEF, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, and HPLC/UPLC systems.
  • Troubleshoot experimental and equipment-related technical issues and assist in identifying effective solutions.
  • Support method development and method transfer activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, including laboratory notebooks, chemical inventories, and data management documentation.
  • Interpret, analyze, and present scientific and technical data to support project objectives and decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional partners while maintaining a strong focus on laboratory safety, quality, and scientific rigor.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field is strongly preferred.
Experience:
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of downstream bioprocess purification processes.
  • Scientific understanding of purification operations involving large, complex molecules.
  • Technical understanding of bioprocess scaling principles.
  • Demonstrated wet chemistry laboratory skills, including pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, and stoichiometry.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience maintaining laboratory records and scientific documentation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, data interpretation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and team-working abilities.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working with adjuvant and/or LNP processing.
  • Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF), including microfiltration and ultrafiltration.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation, including plate readers, densitometers, thermocyclers, cIEF, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, and HPLC/UPLC systems.
  • Experience supporting laboratory operations.
  • Experience working in an industry environment.
  • Experience conducting laboratory-scale process characterization studies.
  • Experience troubleshooting experimental and equipment-related technical issues.
  • Experience with method development and method transfer.
  • Experience working in GMP and/or GLP environments.
Additional Information:
  • This position requires hands-on laboratory work and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, technical environment.
  • Candidates should demonstrate strong scientific curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
