Position: Field Pipe Rehabilitation Welding Specialist — D1.5

You’ll be the on-site welding expert for pipe rehabilitation projects across Virginia Your versatility keeps operations moving—welding first, but ready to support essential field tasks

Your craftsmanship, inspections, and maintenance uphold safety and quality standards

In this role, you will Travel statewide to project locations and perform structural welding in all positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead)
Select appropriate processes and equipment to meet project and code requirements

Prepare materials with angle grinders; align and secure components using calipers, rulers, and clamps

Weld and connect pipe at butt joints, ensure proper gap fill, and verify integrity

Conduct inspections and testing of welds and assemblies to detect flaws

Maintain welding rigs and tools to protect safety, performance, and reliability

Perform field labor as needed: install silt fence, fill sandbags, set sheet pile, and clear debris from existing pipe

Qualifications

Experienced welder with AWS D1.5 certification

Capable of producing welds that pass x‑ray examination

Proficient with TIG, MMA, and related welding techniques and equipment

Comfortable using saws, squares, clamps, grinders, and other hand/electric tools

Skilled at reading technical drawings and documents

Strong safety mindset and consistent use of PPE (face shield, gloves, etc.)Professional certifications (e.g., AWS credentials) are beneficial

Willing to handle physically demanding labor and assist with varied tasks

Prepared to work outdoors in challenging and extreme conditions

Open to frequent travel and on-the-road assignments as needed
