Job Summary
The Bulk Driver position at Matheson Tri-Gas is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of commercial motor vehicles and the handling of liquefied oxygen, nitrogen, and argon gases to customer locations and production facilities. The role requires long hours, DOT compliance, and a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and extended stays. Candidates must be able to adapt to schedule changes and remain ready to work at assigned times.
Pay: $28.59 per hour and $0.6240 per mile.
Essential Functions- Safe loading and unloading of cryogenic liquids.
- Practice safe driving techniques daily when operating company vehicles to prevent work‑related accidents and injuries.
- Report all accidents and unsafe acts or conditions (near‑misses) while performing duties.
- Comply with all company and customer safety policies and procedures, and understand all applicable operating instructions.
- Complete and submit all required regulatory compliance and company documents.
- Communicate accurately and promptly to appropriate individuals or departments regarding customer service, scheduling delays, site discrepancies, equipment defects, and other operational issues.
- Obtain scheduling information from dispatchers and planners and adhere to schedule instructions; communicate any adverse circumstances.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate professional standards consistently; develop good working relationships with customers.
- Prepare for duty on time and be ready to work as scheduled.
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.
- Associate's Degree or higher.
- 1 to 3 years of commercial driver experience.
- 4 to 6 years of commercial driver experience.
- 7 to 9 years of commercial driver experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of two years of tractor and semi‑trailer experience with verification.
- Class A CDL with hazardous materials, tanker, and air brake endorsements.
- Valid CDL with Hazardous Materials, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements; minimum three years of tractor and semi‑trailer experience.
- Safe driving record and ability to demonstrate vehicle handling during pre‑employment road test.
- Ability to drive manual transmission.
- Ability to work a five‑day schedule under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations hours of service rules.
- Maintain physical qualifications required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including standing, lifting, and stooping.
- Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, extended stays, and team operations.
- Understand and adhere to Federal Motor Safety Regulations.
- Operate delivery and loading equipment in all weather conditions.
- Competent in safe handling of cryogenic liquids (loading, transport, unloading).
Required:
Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements. Preferred: additional endorsements as specified by the company.
