Freelance/Per Diem Photographer – CBS 13 & KC 31

West Sacramento, California – Travel may be required at short notice.

Freelance (Non‑Staff)

The CBS owned and operated station in Sacramento is recruiting a freelance news photographer/editor. The role requires over three years of television news experience and will reinforce talent storytelling with visual texture.

• Over 3 years of television news experience covering breaking news, features and sports.
• Sound journalistic judgment.
• Passion for visual storytelling.
• Excellent lighting skills.
• Deadline oriented.
• Experience operating microwave, bonded‑cellular packs and/or satellite trucks.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Occasional travel.
• Working knowledge of XDCAM EX camera and Grass Valley EDIUS editing systems.
• Familiarity with live trucks and bonded cellular packs.
• Creative, passionate storytelling team player.
