Established in 2023, Communi Care+OLE is the result of a union of two health centers with deep roots in their respective communities and reputations for providing high-quality primary care to all, regardless of insurance or ability to pay: OLE Health of Napa and Solano Counties and Communi Care Health Centers of Yolo County. Building on a legacy established by both organizations in 1972, Communi Care+OLE is a network of federally-qualified health centers with 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties.

Job Summary / OverviewThe Medical Assistant works with the medical services staff to assist with medical visits and provide initial patient intake. The Medical Assistant works as part of a multidisciplinary team composed of the clinic services coordinator, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and community health workers educators to provide comprehensive care to a primarily low income, non-English speaking population. The Medical Assistant I ensures optimum patient care through efficient rooming of patients, exhibiting good communication with patients and other staff, performing medical procedures, providing patient education, follow-up care instructions, and completing daily documentation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Interview patients for program eligibility for a variety of health care coverage programs including Covered California, Medi‑Cal, Healthy Families, Patient Assistance Program (PAP), and County Medical Services Program (CMSP).
- Assist patients with applications to the various programs and collection of necessary documentation.
- Educate patients, family members and community about various health coverage programs.
- Provide data entry of patient information into electronic health record system.
- Support community events and health fairs.
- Greet patients into exam room areas and create a positive patient customer service experience.
- Room patients, obtain and document vital signs.
- Collect and document patient history and current state of health.
- Disinfect and prepare treatment rooms, equipment and supplies in a timely manner to ensure optimum flow.
