Job DescriptionEurofins Environment Testing Northern California is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for our West Sacramento location.
The Laboratory Technician uses general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins’ Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, supporting laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis and maintain chain of custody.
- Perform sample preparation, including:
- Aliquot samples
- Spike and trace samples
- Prepare reagents/acid/base
- Bottle samples
- Prepare concentrations
- Separation
- Sonication
- Liquid rack set up
- Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Prepare laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Wash laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Perform job functions within Eurofins Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance standards.
- Maintain housekeeping for work area.
- Perform daily calibration of pipettes and balances.
- Properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and recycling.
- Stock laboratory supplies.
- Clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist other laboratory areas as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, production environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Compensation range: $19–$21 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
- Position is full‑time, non‑exempt and eligible for overtime pay.
- Shifts:
Sunday – Thursday, 7PM – 3:30AM with possible overtime and weekends as needed; initial training Monday‑Friday, 9am – 5pm.
