Job Overview
Our dairy cooperative is seeking a regular, full-time Butter Machine Operator. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) position. It offers a base rate pay range of $27.02–$29.08 per hour and an additional 7% evening differential added to the base rate. The position also offers eligibility for rate increases every 6 months for the first 18 months of employment, with ample opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain butter packaging equipment in an efficient and sanitary manner.
- Follow the production schedule and maintain facility sanitation, including CIP washing of equipment and cleaning of walls, floors, ceilings.
- Restock butter packaging materials to meet production and maintain materials orderly.
- Schedule flexibility: willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays and rotate shift as required.
- Operate, understand and troubleshoot butter packaging and processing machinery, including case packaging equipment.
- Adjust machines to meet required specifications.
- Operate and set printers to ensure USDA# and “Sell By” dates are correct.
- Ensure correct packaging is used for each production item.
- Complete and record necessary information on logs, verifying all required documents are filled out accurately per safety and SQF procedures.
- Current or prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the food industry considered a plus.
