Position: Plasma Center Nurse - RN ($3,000 Sign on Bonus)

Job Description

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results, and supporting Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.

Additional responsibilities include evaluating donor reactions per SOPs, following medical emergency procedures, referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed, acting as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, and handling employee incidents related to occupational health and EHS guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
  • Notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including donor transport to emergency facilities.
  • Refer medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
  • Licensed or certified Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of assignment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfills state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Successfully completes FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
Compensation and Benefits

Location:

USA – MA – West Springfield

U.S. hourly wage range: $36.96 – $50.82. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
