Reports To: Parts Manager, or May Vary According to Dealership
Required Skills:
- Ability to receive customers, establish rapport, and attend to customers’ needs
- Ability to match customers’ needs with appropriate parts or services
- Knowledge of automotive systems and inventory monitoring
- Familiarity with parts counter procedures, including prepayment for special orders
- Proficiency in searching part numbers, using computers and catalogs
- Ability to monitor and track inventory, identify reorder needs, and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies
- Knowledge of procedures for ordering special or unlisted parts
- Ability to acknowledge receipt of warranty parts

Position Summary:
The Parts Counterperson contributes to inventory management and customer service by establishing rapport, assisting in locating parts, and managing inventory levels. They support the Parts Manager in resolving inventory discrepancies, researching parts availability, and ensuring correct parts are sent for special orders. The role requires knowledge of automotive parts, inventory systems, and effective communication skills both in person and via phone.
