Job Description
Atlas is hiring an Environmental Field Technician to support environmental site assessment work based in West Springfield, MA. In this field‑based role, you’ll help collect environmental data, support site investigations, maintain field equipment and supplies, and contribute to accurate project documentation for Project Managers. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build experience in environmental field services while contributing to work that supports safer sites and healthier communities.

Core Responsibilities- Perform field activities such as groundwater sampling, storm water sampling, and landfill monitoring.
- Support drilling oversight, soil sampling, and boring log preparation.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain field supplies and equipment for project work.
- Collect GIS point data in the field and support accurate project records.
- Follow quality control, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures during field activities and reporting.
- Draft technical reports and coordinate sample pickup and related communication with laboratories, with occasional interaction with regulatory or government agencies.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science or another science‑related major.
- 0 to 1+ years of environmental experience; other professional work experience is also valued.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass an MVR review.
- Flexibility to travel primarily within western and central Massachusetts and Connecticut, with occasional day travel to Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and eastern New York.
- Availability for project‑based work hours that typically range from 7–8 a.m. to 5–6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- The physical ability to perform field work, including standing, bending, stooping, and handling site activities that require strength, stamina, and dexterity.
- Comfort using an iPhone or iPad, working in Microsoft Office and Excel, and managing multiple assignments.
- Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality work.
- Experience with CADD is a plus.
- 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is available in‑house.

About the Job- Employment Type: Full‑time
- Compensation: $26.00 hourly rate
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
