The West Springfield Park & Recreation Department seeks qualified individuals to fill Pool Attendant positions for the Town of West Springfield's two outdoor public pools, Alice Corson Pool located at 373 Main Street and Memorial Pool located at 51 Smyrna Street. The Pool Attendant is responsible for checking patrons I.D.’s, signing patrons in and charging fees to non-residents in accordance to policies.
Their duties also include speaking with patrons to enforce rules, keeping accurate records and head counts to maintain capacity limits at a facility.
- Check all patrons I.D.’s in accordance with Department’s Pool Pass Policy.
- Ensure that all patrons sign into the facility.
- Charge fees according to Pool Pass Policy.
- Handle cash and issue receipts for sale of pool passes.
- Ensure accurate accounting of cash received; ensure handling and storage of cash.
- Assist patrons with inquiries about pool facilities and rules.
- Enforce rules and regulations of facility.
- To provide a high standard of patron care at all times.
- To contribute to the health and safety of the patrons and facility.
- Report all defects in facility or equipment to supervisor.
- Assist in keeping storage areas clean, tidy, safe and in orderly condition.
- Assist in ensuring facility security, opening/locking up areas according to Department’s policy.
- Submit reports as required.
- Report all violations of rules and policies to supervisor immediately.
- Report license numbers of reckless drivers and suspicious activity to supervisor.
- Responsible to the Department Director/Recreation Supervisor, and directly to the Aquatics Director and/or Pool Manager
11:30AM to 7:30PM or as assigned by the Aquatics Director and/or Pool Manager. This position is seasonal (June 18, 2026 through August 16, 2026).
SalaryThe salary range for this position is $15.00 per hour.
Minimum Age Requirements16 years of age by June 18, 2026 along with necessary certifications
Desired QualificationsFirst Aid and CPR certifications, or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License.
