Job SummaryIndividual will help maintain various aspects of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and serve on the editorial board for ERGO, Weber State University’s Undergraduate Research Journal.
ResponsibilitiesOffice responsibilities include tracking student grant spending while ensuring that students and faculty follow university policies and procedures; assisting students in booking travel arrangements; managing the OUR website; managing office and director’s P‑cards; organizing files; assisting in OUR special events; communicating undergraduate research requirements and policies to students and faculty; and assisting students and faculty in various aspects of their student grant spending process.
Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as‑needed basis.
As an editor for ERGO, the individual will be responsible for processing article submissions, assigning reviewers, and assisting with editing and formatting for article publication.
Required QualificationsSecretarial and/or clerical experience and experience using PC applications and software required.
Ability to conduct day‑to‑day office management including but not limited to budget reconciliation, accounting, excellent record management, phone and email skills, office supply ordering, etc.
Ability to work with students and faculty in a professional manner and follow university procedures and policies while maintaining confidentiality of student information.
Preferred QualificationsSeeking applicants with strong writing and editorial skills, who are proficient in the use of PC and software applications (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Front Page, Group Wise, Adobe Indesign, etc.). Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate and establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and administration; ability to meet deadlines and work accurately despite interruptions.
Conduct office affairs in a professional manner while working with minimal supervision.
