• Works with customers to identify needs, resolve order/support issues, and serve as their advocate and liaison.
• Monitors back-order reports and resolve or assist in resolving actions that do not meet customer requirements.
• Investigates, coordinates, and releases Sales Orders that impede automated system flow.
• Apply DLA expedite policy and operating procedures to accelerate actions within the supply chain.
• Coordinates research and tracking of Stock Transfer Orders to resolve backorders or expedite delinquent contracts using established policies.
• Works with service representatives to identify alternate supply sources, respond to customer requests, and advise on Sales Order changes.
• Collects, analyzes, and summarizes performance data for agency and customer goals; leads meetings to share ideas and gather feedback to improve operations.
• Prepares briefings with background information, recommendations, data, charts, and graphs; writes detailed reports on assignment status and identified issues.

To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Experience in retail/inventory management, material coordination, AWP/MICAP procedures, repair program support, and local purchase/manufacture processes.

  Experience:
  
  One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  
  Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
• Dealing with variables such as material availability, program relationships, and cost/benefit considerations.
• Developing guidance for applying supply policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods.
• Experience in transportation programs, distribution center operations, automated systems, and related regulations to meet emergency requirements.
• Experience in marketing and demand planning techniques and knowledge of supplier capabilities to analyze customer needs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
