Overview
USU Extension & 4-H in Carbon County is seeking motivated individual to assist 4-H programming including STEM outreach events. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support engaging, high-quality experiences for local youth through coordinated marketing/communication and provide leadership to strengthen STEM opportunities. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities- Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of STEM outreach, including at least one 4-H STEM summer camp.
- Develop STEM community outreach project for Carbon County Fair.
- Create 4-H event advertising, promotional materials, and social media designs working closely with staff assistant.
- Assist in county-level 4-H event planning, communication, and logistic coordination.
- Support strategic growth through initial external funding proposal development.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Reliable access to transportation to travel locally to and from work sites.
- Some flexibility in work schedule required for occasional evening or weekend events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or some higher education experience desired.
- At least one year’s experience working with youth programs or supervising youth.
- Background or interest in STEM field, particularly engineering/electronics.
- Experience implementing STEM education curricula.
- Previous experience working with youth and/or youth-serving programs.
- Experience working within an office team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds and life experiences.
- Self-motivated and able to complete a variety of tasks within deadlines without direct supervision.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Must be able to work effectively with volunteers and local stakeholders.
- Ability to write standard reports.

Advertised Salary $20.00/hr ADAEmployees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
