Job Summary
This position reports to the South Region Campus & Site Services Coordinator and works under general supervision to ensure support for students/staff/faculty at the West Valley Center. Assist students, staff, and faculty with admissions, registration, records, and college program questions. Connect students, staff, and faculty with additional resources, and other duties as assigned.
Hours for this position will be (position is located at the West Valley Center):
Monday – Thursday 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Friday – 11:00 am – 4:30 pm. Hours may vary each semester depending on department need but will average 24-27 hrs a week.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities- Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with staff, students, faculty, and the general public to maintain good working relationships across the College
- Capable of explaining complex issue in a concise manner to students, staff, and faculty.
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
- Able to use professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet the department’s needs. Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
- Preferred:
General knowledge of higher education policies, practices, and procedures. - Ability to take initiative in identifying and promoting development opportunities.
- Ability to operate a computer and general office equipment
High School graduate or GED equivalent
Preferred QualificationsSpanish Speaking preferred
Experience specific to Higher Education
One (1) year post-high school education.
One (1) year full-time (or equivalent) work experience.
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based information and scheduling systems.
Knowledge and experience with Banner, MySLCC programs.
