Job Summary/Basic Function
This position provides one-to-one academic support to WSU nursing students in the ADN program. Tutors serve as collaborative mentors, helping peers build confidence and succeed academically while demonstrating strong communication, empathy, and professionalism. Tutors receive required training in effective tutoring techniques.
Basic Job Functions
- Facilitate one-on-one nursing tutoring consultations, both in-person and online.
- Participate in mandatory training and tutor certification programs.
- Must be a current WSU student in good academic standing.
- Able to attend required training and certification workshops.
- Must be able to tutor on the WSU Davis Campus.
- Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
- A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
- Highly reliable, with strong time and task management skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and friendly manner.
A criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire, and applicants will be notified.
