Overview

The Site Specialist oversees the after school program at a school in Magna, Utah, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade during the school year. The Site Specialist works closely with educators, parents, and students to support a high-quality after school experience. This position works 25 hours per week implementing program activities and maintaining data and reporting requirements that demonstrate grant outcomes and program success.

The Site Specialist serves as the primary liaison between families and the after school program, fostering strong communication and engagement. The Site Specialist also recruits and supports educators who lead after school clubs and enrichment activities. Attendance at occasional evening events is required, including family nights and other program-related activities.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about youth development, family engagement, and creating meaningful educational opportunities for students.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily after school program operations and ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for students.
  • Manage student check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Distribute snacks and ensure program compliance with applicable guidelines.
  • Support positive behavior management and student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and other required program data.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student participation and program updates.
  • Assist families and students with registration for after school programs and activities.
  • Plan and support monthly family engagement nights and other family-focused events.
  • Collaborate with after school staff to ensure successful program implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and supporting after school educators.
  • Provide guidance and support to educators to help ensure the delivery of high-quality after school programming.
  • Coordinate with Utah State University Extension county youth programs to connect students with additional learning and enrichment opportunities beyond the after school program.
  • Attendance at occasional evening events is required, including family nights and other program-related activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working with children and youth.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based applications.
  • Access to reliable transportation to and from work sites.
  • Availability during all scheduled program operating hours.
