Job SummaryCCI Automation seeks a skilled Building Automation Programmer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement control systems for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role requires a strong field background, familiarity with automation engineering principles, and system design. Responsibilities include supporting installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of BAS, collaborating with the Building Automation Manager and field team to ensure efficient, energy‑saving, comfortable, and safe operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front‑end GUI.
- Integrate multiple systems, ensuring protocols communicate and share data.
- Install, configure, and commission BAS.
- Mentor the Field Automation team to ensure safety, technical standards, and compliance.
- Perform field operations: regular maintenance, inspections, calibration.
- Respond to service requests and dispatch, maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Provide technical support and training to the Building Automation team.
- Troubleshoot and repair BAS malfunctions.
- Monitor performance and analyze data to identify energy‑efficiency improvements.
- Update and maintain system software/firmware.
- Respond to service calls for BAS issues.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Document all maintenance, repairs, and modifications per company policy.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors to complete installations on time.
- Remotely access client controls to monitor, service, and troubleshoot.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, OR 3+ years of professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Building Automation Technician.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and BAS.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus.
- Skilled troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical blueprints, diagrams, manuals.
- Background in JCI platforms preferred.
- Experience in a team‑leader role supporting, training, mentoring less experienced professionals.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, detail orientation.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and technologies.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
Employee must sit, see, talk, listen, use hands, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs; required close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision; commute between sites; navigate job site locations.
Work EnvironmentEmployee will work in typical office environments and frequently at construction field sites.
