Position Summary:
Supports Automation Engineering and Operations with a technical focus. This position requires mechanical aptitude and a willingness and ability to trouble shoot equipment failures and follow equipment assembly and preventative maintenance instructions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assemble subassemblies, prototype and production equipment of intermediate/advanced complexity
- Machine or modify parts as required
- Read drawings and schematics of intermediate complexity
- Assemble circuit boards of intermediate complexity
- Wire equipment of intermediate complexity
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment of intermediate/advanced complexity
- Teach assembly and preventative maintenance to other Technicians as directed by Automation Engineering
- Design simple tools and fixtures under the direction of Automation Engineering
- Respond to intermediate equipment failures by troubleshooting and resolving the issue or escalating it to Automation Engineering
- Assist engineers with component and tooling implementation for production, including but not limited to equipment validation, component drawings and device bills of material
- Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws and standards
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation
- 3 years minimum of assembly or equipment experience, medical device preferred
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with computer use, Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Office 365
- Mechanical aptitude/trouble shooting abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and efficient management of time and resources
- Ability to easily adapt to new tasks
- Able to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision
- Ability to read and understand simple mechanical drawings
