As a Configuration Analyst – Level 4 located in Promontory, UT, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
Northrop Grumman Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Principal Configuration Analyst 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at our Promontory, Utah campus.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:- Provides expert guidance and support on configuration management best practices to project teams
- Participates in the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities related to identification, control, and accounting for systems, products and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements
- Ensures technical content meets internal and external customer requirements
- Evaluates technical content for cohesiveness and completeness
- Coordinates changes to product design documents with engineering, quality manufacturing, and other support organizations
- Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and ensures compliance with configuration management policies
- Performs engineering data control activities which may include administration of government/industry documents (change notice, impact assessment, and where-used creation) and creation/release of parts
- Participates in modifying and enhancing standard work associated with activities and responsibilities described above
- This position requires application knowledge of ASME Y14.100 & ASME Y14.34 as well as basic drafting principles and item master understanding

- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, specifications, parts lists, change notices, manufacturing plans, test or laboratory procedures)
- Knowledge or demonstrated experience using one of the following: PLM, CAD, or MRP software
- Knowledge of how business processes work together to ensure interfaces with other business processes are efficient
- Effective communicator and skilled at collaborating with others to get work done and manage conflicting priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture
- Ability to work on a team or independently as needed
- Excellent decision-making capability to make timely decisions with the information at hand
- This position often involves critical thinking skills to evaluate technical content for cohesiveness and completeness
