Lead Field Service Drives Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform installation and commissioning on drive systems at customer site locations during ship construction.
• Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, and execute customer training.
• Execute on‑site project management and technical leadership duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction.
• Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
• Provide on‑call support in response to customer calls for service.
• Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business.
• Provide support to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects.
• Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements.
• Perform work on‑board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
• Extended hours / overtime may be required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
• Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• OR Associate's Degree or related discipline with a minimum of 5 additional years of related industry experience.
• OR School diploma or GED equivalency with minimum of 8 years of related industry experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice.
• Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications.
• Background in a customer‑facing position within a service environment.
• Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments requiring considerable engineering skill, creative ability, and independent judgment.
• US person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects.

• Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore.
• Previous marine industry experience.
• For field service engineers who may work offshore, must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and offshore survival course including swimming pool activities.
• Possesses leadership qualities that align with GE Vernova Way.
• Background in a customer‑facing position within a service environment.

GE Vernova offers the position at a U.S. based location with pay range $78,800.00 – $, plus geographic differential. Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
