Job

Overview

Develops, implements, and monitors workplace safety policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental harm. Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA), conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and deliver safety training to foster a positive safety culture in accordance with Boart Longyear policies, United States legislation, and international regulations or client requirements as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Health and Safety compliance with corporate EHS standards in United States.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize potential risks
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and employ corporate training programs to ensure manufacturing and warehouse employees meet BLY, clients, and regulatory compliance for health and safety training.
  • Track key metrics for reporting and presenting monthly KPI statistics for managers, supervisors, clients, and employees.
  • Lead and participate in daily safety meetings for manufacturing employees.
  • Promote a culture of prevention and awareness of occupational hazards aimed at employees, contractors, suppliers, and all those who provide services to Boart Longyear.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures (first aid, evacuation, fires, spills, etc.) related to Safety, Environment, and Training.
  • Promptly report any substandard situations that warrant immediate attention within the projects, Administrative Offices, warehouse, and/or a specific service.
  • Determine the need for and replacement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in coordination with the direct supervisor.
  • Maintain records of related Safety, Environment, and Training activities, in accordance with the requirements of the law, the client, and Boart Longyear.
  • Support in other functions that your superior entrusts you in coordination with other areas.

Qualifications

Education:

Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering.

Experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
  • National and international Mining Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Regulations.
  • National and international Mining Safety Legislation.
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment, and control.
  • Incident and accident investigation and reporting.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) - Intermediate
Languages
  • Knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
