Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronic Technician 3 or 4 for our Roy, UT location supporting the Sentinel Program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support CSIL Lab Operations laboratory test plans, including installation and removal of hardware and line replaceable units (LRU), building to drawings, executing work orders, manufacturing lab cables and harnesses, troubleshooting, and documenting and reporting defects.
  • Work with Management, Lab Operations, and Designers to ensure the lab is built and maintained to the correct specifications needed for formal test and daily operations.
  • Ensure CSIL laboratory compliance with all security, safety, SDS, and other program directives.
  • Comply with all corporate and laboratory safety and security policies.
  • Travel as required to support Sentinel requirement verification.
  • Construct simple test fixtures and perform minor repairs or modifications, such as drilling, tapping, wiring, and soldering components directed by an engineer or higher classified personnel.
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electronic systems, including repair and setup of video, audio, process controllers, test equipment, and data acquisition systems.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and use a variety of electronic troubleshooting equipment.
  • Perform technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions; make and record observations; perform simple calculations; collect and prepare data for evaluation.
  • Conduct laboratory support functions, including stocking and distributing supplies and equipment, arranging and dismantling apparatus, and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
  • Perform technical and record‑keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.
  • Analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection when required.
  • Perform technical procedures in areas such as Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities, including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems; experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment; analog, digital, and/or video type circuits and logic systems; routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks; routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance;

diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to component level; conduct engineering tests and collect data as assigned; utilize routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar apparatus; work in development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like; exclude production test activities; entry level; exclude trainees with no academic preparation or experience.

Experience & Training

Electronics training equivalent to two years at a technical trade school or military technical school. This is dual‑level and can be filled at a level 2 or level 3.

Basic Qualifications

    High School diploma or equivalent plus four years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Electronic Technician 4:
    High School diploma or equivalent plus six years of additional education and/or related experience.
Required for Both Levels
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period as determined by the company.
  • Knowledge of electronic principles, ability to wire and assemble circuits, and understanding of operation of basic test equipment.
