Description
Wheeler Machinery is seeking a full-time Welder/Fabricator in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will weld and fabricate a variety of metals ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret build prints, follow build instructions, and consistently meet and exceed estimated weld times. This position focuses on day-to-day hands-on production responsibilities rather than the management of others.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.
- Train a teachable employee in needed areas
- Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions
- Read blueprints and identify markings
- Horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire
- Read inside and outside mic's
- Set up and weld series of bores
- Fabrication from prints and weld projects
- Tig weld flat position (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)
- Locate specs from sis
- Order parts
- Writing service reports
- Precision measuring
- Preform all other duties as assigned
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
- Must be a team player and work well with others.
- Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
- Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
- Always keep a safety mindset
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Overtime may be required
- Ability to have a resolve for problems when they arise.
