Industrial Engineer III, Continuous Improvement

Regular. The Industrial Engineer III, Continuous Improvement leads the analysis, design, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. This role involves technical expertise, problem‑solving, project management, and collaboration with internal and external teams to develop and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Lead lean application development at site level, including training on lean tools, assessments, and site development action plans.
- Generate value stream maps, identify opportunities for improvement, and manage improvement plans.
- Develop capacity models for new and current production processes and maintain them after improvements.
- Use Digital Twin Simulation software for modeling, scenario management, and optimization of factory processes.
- Develop and execute the strategy for visual management and real‑time data display across the manufacturing facility.
- Standardize visual reporting practices and ensure consistency across all production lines and shifts.
- Analyze KPI trends and provide actionable insights to management and floor supervisors to drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of accountability, empowering teams to use data to make decisions and take action.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree, MBA, or MS preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Minimum of 80% on‑floor work on the production floor.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., SIMIO) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works).
- Strong initiative, drive, and ownership of deliverables.
- Proficiency in 3D printing software, equipment, and materials.
- Strong data analysis skills; proficient in Minitab, Excel, and SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to gain cooperation of others and present technical information.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift up to 35 lbs., bend, and use hands and wrists to operate the computer. Travel to sites/programs and special functions may be required.
Special Requirements- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or asylee/refugee status required.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental U.S. and internationally when required.
- Training travel requirement: weekly travel from Salt Lake City, UT to Simi Valley, CA for the first three months of employment (Monday through Friday, three weeks per month). Travel, lodging, meals, and ground transportation will be provided.
- ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information subject to ITAR/EAR. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. person or be approved for an export license.
