At JW Custom Hats, we don't just make hats—we create heirlooms. We manufacture specialized hat-making tools and handcraft custom hats that are built to last for generations.

We're looking for someone with an artistic eye, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for quality craftsmanship. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in doing things right, and understands that mastery comes through patience, consistency, and repetition.

You'll have the opportunity to work in both our hat shop and woodshop, learn a variety of skills, and help create products that reflect the quality and reputation of our brand. Experience isn't required—we're looking for the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to excellence.

• Craft, customize, restore, and finish hats, hat-making tools, and related products while maintaining JW Custom Hats' quality standards.
• Perform a variety of production tasks in both the hat shop and woodshop with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Meet production schedules without compromising craftsmanship or quality.
• Learn and perform multiple production processes, adapting to the needs of the business.
• Inspect your work to ensure every product meets our standards before moving to the next stage.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with inventory, material preparation, equipment maintenance, packaging, shipping, and other general shop duties.
• Contribute ideas that improve quality, efficiency, workflow, and shop organization.
• Represent JW Custom Hats professionally at trade shows, hat bars, demonstrations, and other company events, providing outstanding customer service.
• Work collaboratively with team members while fostering a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, continuous improvement, and pride in your work.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the continued growth and success of the company.

Experience That Helps (But Isn't Required)

We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Woodworking or carpentry
• Manufacturing or assembly
• Sewing, upholstery, or alterations
• Leatherworking
• Metal fabrication, machining, or welding
• Pottery, sculpture, painting, or other artistic crafts
• Restoration, finishing, or detail work
• General shop or production experience

This position is primarily performed on your feet in a workshop environment.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely handle materials, tools, and equipment.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to operate shop machinery.

Occasional evening, weekend, and travel may be required for trade shows, events, and hat bar experiences.

Safety is a top priority. Employees are expected to follow all shop safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
