ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and continuous support of manufacturing machinery and facility equipment. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment is installed properly, operating safely, and maintained in accordance with scheduled and routine preventive maintenance requirements. The position requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication, and repair skills, with specific knowledge of molding machinery operations.
This position requires the ability to interpret complex diagrams, blueprints, prints, and schematics; troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 480V three-phase; and perform mechanical hookups and adjustments necessary to make manufacturing machines fully operable.
Key Responsibilities- Install manufacturing machinery and equipment using complex diagrams, blueprints, layouts, and technical instructions.
- Perform machine setup, alignment, mechanical hookups, and operational checks to ensure equipment is properly installed and production-ready.
- Assist production cells with scheduled and routine preventive maintenance activities.
- Train and support production personnel on routine maintenance tasks and equipment care procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Make equipment adjustments, repairs, and calibrations to restore proper operation.
- Replace worn or defective parts, components, assemblies, and machine elements as needed.
- Support the maintenance and repair of molding machinery, manufacturing equipment, and related systems.
- Recommend and/or install safety improvements to enhance equipment guarding, operation, and workplace safety.
- Perform fabrication, welding, and repair functions to support equipment reliability and operational needs.
- Run conduit, fit and install piping, and support utility connections for manufacturing equipment.
- Support other maintenance functions as assigned, including general facility, equipment, and production support tasks.
- Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Follow all applicable safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and company maintenance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing machinery.
- Working knowledge of molding machinery operations, fabrication, welding, and equipment repair functions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits ranging from 24 VDC / 24 VAC to 480V three-phase.
- Ability to read and interpret prints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to run conduit and size electrical circuits according to amperage requirements.
- Ability to fit and run galvanized, copper, and PVC pipe.
- Ability to perform mechanical hookups, equipment setup, component replacement, and machine adjustments.
- Must provide own tools and toolbox appropriate for maintenance work.
- Forklift operating experience required or preferred.
- Man lift operating experience required or preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a production support team.
