Key Responsibilities:Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other equipment to manufacture precision parts according to blueprints and specifications.
- Calculate dimensions, tolerances, and measurements using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Monitor machine operation, including feed rates and speeds, to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Manufacture precision components by cutting, grinding, machining, and shaping various metals and materials.
- Ensure all parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and dimensional tolerances.
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and controls to correct any production issues or deviations.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments or minor repairs.
- Communicate major equipment concerns with supervisors and coordinate with maintenance teams when needed.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to verify accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve machining processes, efficiency, and product quality.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA/ANSI standards, and manufacturing guidelines.
- Properly use required PPE and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Identify and report safety hazards or equipment concerns.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to improve machining processes.
- Provide feedback on design improvements, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training in machining preferred.
- 3+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience operating manual and CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and metal properties.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
