Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Inpatient Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner, you will be a cornerstone in providing specialized mental health care within a hospital setting. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to make a profound impact in inpatient mental health, working with an adult patient population in a focused, supportive environment.

Every day you will manage a caseload of up to 11 adult patients, providing critical individual therapy and expert medication management during regular Monday‑Friday business hours. Your role will involve performing advanced practice procedures and conducting essential consults within the hospital, all while leveraging the nursing process to promote and restore the optimal health and well‑being of those experiencing behavioral health challenges.

To be successful in this role, you will be a board‑certified Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in Behavioral Health or Psychiatry. You possess a passion for inpatient mental health care, and the ability to effectively manage a focused patient caseload (18 and over). Strong collaborative skills are essential, as you will work closely with MD partners and interdisciplinary teams. Your commitment to utilizing advanced practice procedures and delivering evidence‑based individual therapy and medication management will be key, alongside a personal alignment with our organizational mission and core values to provide compassionate and effective mental health services.

  • Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care planning: conduct thorough physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual assessments, evaluating patient responses and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement holistic, individualized plans of care.
  • Deliver and monitor therapeutic interventions: perform and assess a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including cardiac testing (e.g., treadmill, stress tests, 12‑Lead EKG interpretation), and monitor patients for optimal outcomes, including emergency interventions per ACLS/ACC guidelines.
  • Educate and advocate for patients: assess patient/family learning styles to effectively teach about care plans, fostering commitment to compliance, and serve as a dedicated patient advocate, anticipating the needs of patients, families, and staff.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and records: ensure thorough, confidential, and timely documentation of patient charts, including ongoing status, interventions, patient responses, outcomes, and teaching effectiveness.

We are offering a highly competitive guaranteed base salary, enhanced by an RVU incentive and a quality incentive bonus, generous $7,435 sign‑on bonus, $10,000 in relocation assistance, alongside dedicated CME funds and flexible time away to ensure your professional and personal well‑being.
